Worth knowing about EDI:

It is important to know the difference between a document type, a format and a variant. It is of great importance for how resource-intensive it is to establish EDI with the individual business partner (customer, supplier, etc.)

A document type can e.g. be an invoice, an offer, an order confirmation, etc. These can all be sent and received in different formats (e.g. EDIFACT, OIOUBL, etc.). Once a business partner has chosen to make their own version of a standard format, it is a variant.

We recommend that you make an active choice about which formats and variants your company should support, preferably based on the choices the business partners you do business with have.

At Optimate, we have an EDI standard package supporting various documents, formats and variants. The short version is - if we have what you demand 'on the shelf', then you can an emidiate start with EDI.

At Optimate, we use OptiEDI to handle EDI, as the solution is fully scalable and flexible to use.

We break down EDI into smaller chunks, starting with the processes that create the greatest value for your business. This will get you started faster, and you will also gain some experience with EDI. Thereby you can get through subsequent EDI processes faster.

We have made a small description of what a VANS supplier is - if you need a VANS supplier at all.

If you have to choose a VANS provider, you need to take your business demands into consideration. Thus you must identify whether the supplier you are considering collaborating with can handle the types of documents that you and your business partners need.

Optimate is of course happy to help you find the right VANS supplier.

There is no one right time to start with EDI - it depends on your situation. The important thing is that you have the right partner to support both your business and your solution.

In addition, the necessary internal resources must have the time to collaborate with us. Therefore, we find the time together and get the process planned so that your organization gets a succesful start with EDI.

We would suggest that you hear what our customers say about their collaboration with Optimate - instead of just taking our word for it.

But if you ask us, then we go to great lengths to have a close collaboration with our customers. We promise only what we can - and no more than that!

Our customers are always assigned a fixed consulting team. Either you contact our consultants directly, or you contact our Helpdesk. It depends on which set-up suits your organization.
